Who is Guatavita's work suited for?
Our work is suited for family-owned businesses at any stage — whether you are a founding generation trying to write down what you have always assumed, or a second generation preparing to take over from parents. We work well with firms that value reflection and want decisions to be shared rather than imposed.
How long does a typical engagement take?
A Family Charter Conversation typically takes one half-day session. Succession Mapping runs across three sessions over two to four weeks, depending on availability. The Whole-Business Study spans five weeks of structured review and presentation. All timelines are designed to be adapted to your calendar.
Do all family members need to attend every session?
Not necessarily. Some sessions work best with the full family present; others are more productive in smaller groups. We discuss participation at the outset and design the format together, so everyone involved can contribute in a way that feels comfortable for them.
What is the cost, and how is it structured?
Our services are priced at $128.000 COP for the Family Charter Conversation, $205.000 COP for Succession Mapping, and $315.000 COP for the Whole-Business Study. Payment is arranged before each engagement begins. There are no hidden fees, and scope is discussed openly before any commitment is made.
How private is what we share with you?
Everything discussed in our sessions is treated with full confidentiality. We do not share information with third parties, and the documents we produce belong entirely to your family. We are happy to discuss our confidentiality approach in detail before any work begins.
Can sessions be held remotely?
Yes. While we are based in Medellín and often meet in person, we are comfortable working with families across Colombia via video call. Some families prefer a mix — an in-person first session and remote follow-ups. We are flexible about format.
